Mr. Smith has pursued the path of design process and solution integration through personal practice, academia and practice as an apprenticing architect and engineer. The exerting nucleus of his experiences has been “building a[s] being, which envelops notions of collaboration, ethics, engineering and artistic methodologies and concepts.  Gaining experience from working at places such as Hospital Corporation of America, to Gresham, Smith & Partners; from Oak Ridge National Laboratory to Square D; from commercial, residential and mixed-use development to Wood PLC, large federal projects, he has adapted his skills to always seek the best performing attributes, simple solutions and collaborative approaches.  Maintaining positive relationships during and after employment has allowed him to value and to leverage experiences from areas of expertise not always planned.
